AN INTRODUCTION TO V. RAMBONE FARRINGTON
AUTHOR OF 'JINGLE & BEN ' THE NEXT ADVENTURES-FOR 11-18 YEARS
Acclaimed particle Physicist & Geography teacher, V Rambone Farrington (nobody knows what the V stands for, but some have speculated on ' Vergissmeinnicht ' ) started writing after a close encounter of the 3rd kind, whilst he was tobogganing in Macclesfield. Though to be sure, he rarely talks about his abduction, never the less, his slight bow-legged gait is an indicator of some of the examinations which he apparently went through at the time. Well, that or childhood rickets.
Born in 1960 to older German immigrants running from the Nazi regime in Pre-WW2 Germany, he has learned a profound love of order, sausage, sauerkraut and the Umm-pa-pah. (Whatever that is.) He is also expert on Jazz Trombone and the Shofar.
His father worked extensively on the predecessors to the V1 rocket, the UB40 and the U2, one of which never got off the ground, whilst the other never came back to earth! His father's continued love for heel-clicking and rocketry was made evident with his working on the night shift of a firework factory in Stoke on Trent, and this passion, together with the gunpowder, obviously rubbed off on his son, 'V,' who, according to all accounts proved to be a bit of an explosive character when anybody called him Veronica at school.
V came to Fantasy writing to subsidize his pitiful salary as a Geography teacher, and to pay for the vast quantities of preparation H he need after the alien encounter. The success of his first book, '11 Things to do with a Particle Generator in Macclesfield on a Saturday Night' led him to delve even deeper into Quantum mechanics and dimensional portals, of which, he is a self-proclaimed, and much acclaimed expert.
Married to Eva, they have five children under the age of twelve, and still enjoy picnics in Eva's brown Volkswagen camper. He is, like liquid nitrogen, super-cool, holding a 7th Dan in Origami. He is, above all, a 'Chap' and rarely seen without a waistcoat and bow-tie. even when riding on his Harley. (They have a massive mountain dog called Harley.)
